How it works

The whole journey, in order — from joining to running events yourself. Checked people, three events to a Season, each one inside your own city, a Chair with you the whole way.

01

Join — free, two minutes

First name, age band, email. No password — we email you a six-digit code each time you sign in. Last names are never collected, and no phone number is asked for.

That is the whole of it. Nothing is charged, nothing is booked, and nothing happens until you choose the next step — today, or in three months.

02

Complete your profile

A separate step, at your own pace. You pick your track — Professional (matched by field and seniority, mixed by design) or Casual (matched for the company) — tell us your area of the city, and accept the code of conduct, timestamped. You get a request number.

On the Professional track we also take your LinkedIn, role and company, because that is what we match on. On the Casual track none of that is collected.

03

We verify you

Every member is verified before their first call. You photograph your ID; a human reviews it within a day, and the image is deleted the moment verification passes — never retained.

This is the promise everyone at your event gets: we speak to everyone before they sit down, so nobody needs to prove themselves.

04

Your seat is confirmed

You ask a Chair for a seat at an event that interests you, and the Chair decides. They are paid to run the room, and they speak to you before you sit. When they accept, you get the date; the venue reaches you 24 hours before.

Everyone in the room sees your first name and an initial, and nothing else. Phone numbers are never visible between members; everything runs inside the app.

05

Stage 1 · The Round Table

Twenty-five minutes, online, chaired. The Chair reads the five rules aloud, each of you has about five minutes on a prompt, and the ladder is explained.

A Round Table we place you in is free on both tracks; a Chair's own Round Table is at the price they show you. You decide whether to carry on only after you have sat in one. Sitting at it also makes you a member — membership is earned, not bought.

06

Between events · your own pace

Nothing moves you along but your own choosing. There is no gate and no deadline: when an event you want is on, you ask the Chair running it, and you may ask up to five Chairs for the same stage.

A free seat is one a stage — the door stays open. Paid events you may take as many of as you like, with at most two held before they are paid for. Asking is free, and a Chair saying no says nothing about you.

07

The Chair's yes, then the payment

No card and no gateway. When a Chair accepts your seat at a paid event, the seat shows the amount, a Pay with UPI button and a QR for that seat alone; you pay in your own UPI app, and the payee shows as Corporate Thalam, the company behind Sit n Talk. Prices are the same for everyone, with no discount or surcharge by gender, on either track.

When it lands, Sit n Talk marks the seat yours and a receipt reaches your email; your Chair then sends you where to go. Nobody else ever sees amounts or who paid what.

08

Stages 2 and 3 — paid, per stage

Professional: The Breakfast (a cafe, 90 minutes, on a morning the Chair sets — any day, weekends included), The Day Out (a full day inside somebody else's working world, then a session on it).

Casual: The Table (coffee, 90 minutes), The Day Out (one full day across the city). Home for dinner either way — every event in person happens inside your own city, and every one of them ends the same day it starts.

09

The venue, and when you learn it

Every venue is a commercial, staffed, licensed premises — never a private residence. No date, time or venue is shown before other members agrees it. The exact address reaches confirmed attendees only, 24 hours ahead, and is never published anywhere.

10

If you can't make it

Your full stage fee moves to the next date as stage credit — no questions, however late you tell us. Once per Season this is automatic at 100%; a second cancellation in the same Season credits 50%; a third is a conversation with your Chair. Credits never expire while your account exists.

11

After every stage · four questions

Did you feel safe. Who you'd want at an event again. How it was. Are you ready for the next stage. Two minutes, to your Chair and nowhere else — never marketing.

A "No" on the safety question gets you a call from your Chair within 2 hours. One serious, substantiated report ends a membership the same day, and you never have to see that person again.

12

Finish the ladder · a Season

One event at each of the three stages is a Season — any order, any Chair, either track. Do five of them with a clean record and you can apply to Chair: run events yourself, and get paid for it.

Start where everyone starts

Joining is free and commits you to nothing. The first payment, if you ever make one, is after you have already met other members.
