What Sit n Talk is

Sit n Talk is a members' club, a product of Corporate Thalam, the company that runs it and receives every payment made for a seat. Chairs run events; you ask a Chair for a seat and the Chair decides who sits. There are three stages — an online Round Table, a breakfast, and a day out — and sitting at one event at each stage, in any order and with any Chair, completes a Season. Joining is free. An event in person is inside your own city and you are home the same evening; online events are open to you wherever you are.

Money

A Round Table we place you in is free on both tracks. Every other event — including a Chair’s own Round Table — is paid, at the price the Chair shows before you request your seat. The app takes no card and runs no gateway: when a Chair accepts you, the seat shows the amount with a Pay with UPI button and a QR, both carrying your seat’s own code, and the payment goes to Corporate Thalam’s bank account through your own UPI app. Sit n Talk records it as paid, and your Chair sends you the joining details or the place after that. You get a receipt by email. Prices are the same for everyone — there is no discount or surcharge by gender, on either track.

Asking for a seat

A seat is the Chair’s to give. You may ask up to five Chairs for the same stage, and hold one free seat at each stage; paid events you may take as many of as you like, with at most two held before they are paid for. A Chair may say no, and it says nothing about you. Nothing moves you along but your own choosing — there is no gate and no deadline to meet.

Cancellation — always credit, no questions

If you cannot make an event you have paid for, your full fee moves to another date as credit — no questions, however late you tell us. Once per Season this is automatic at 100%; a second cancellation in the same Season credits 50%; a third is a conversation with your Chair. Credits never expire while your account exists.

Venues and privacy

Every venue is a commercial, staffed, licensed premises — never a private residence. The exact address reaches people holding a seat only, 24 hours ahead, and is never published. Nothing about an event’s attendees is ever public, and members see one another by first name only.

Safety and removal

The code of conduct is part of these terms. Every report reaches your Chair immediately and silently. One serious, substantiated report ends a membership the same day, without refund of the current event; any unused credit is returned. You never have to see that person again.

Liability

Events take place at third-party commercial venues; the venue's own safety obligations and cover apply on their premises. You attend voluntarily and are responsible for your own belongings and conduct. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Indian law that cannot be limited.

Your account

You can delete your account at any time (see the privacy notice for exactly what happens and how fast). We may correct, suspend or end accounts used to sell, recruit, harass or misrepresent.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India; courts at Chennai have jurisdiction.
